Kahumbya Bashige CDir
Kahumbya Bashige is a seasoned governance and leadership expert with over two decades of executive and board-level experience across the financial, development, and corporate sectors. She is a Fellow of the UK Institute of Directors (IoD) and holds the prestigious Chartered Director qualification from IoD –UK as well as the Corporate Director Certificate from Harvard Business School.
In addition to her role on the IoD Council, Kahumbya holds several other governance positions, including Independent Board Member and Chair of the Audit Committee at CRDB Bank Burundi S.A., Board Advisor to SESDCorp, and Trustee of the Private Agricultural Sector Support (PASS) Trust. Through these appointments, she brings extensive expertise in fiduciary oversight, audit and risk management, institutional governance, and sustainable development.
She has extensive International experience, having held senior leadership roles at Citibank, Deloitte & Touche, the African Development Bank, and Shelter Afrique.
In recognition of her influence in the banking and finance sector, she was honoured as an Angaza 2024 Honoree and listed among the Top 10 Women to Watch in the Industry. Beyond the boardroom, she is a committed mentor and thought leader, passionate about advancing governance and leadership excellence across emerging markets.
