Learn and Network Spring Soirée  Building Safety Act

Join the Property and Built Environment Group for the next Spring Soiree!

Join our first Learn and Network Spring Soiree to delve deeper into the impacts of the Building Safety Act on the Construction industry.

This is the first of our Learn and Network Soiree’s of 2025 which will be focused around the Building Safety Act. In our first session we will then have a presentation from Graham Oliphant of the Oak Leaf Group, who will provide an insight from the Fire Engineers point of view, followed by opportunity for networking and further discussions.

After the presentation, we will adjourn to Scott Brownrigg’s lovely central London outdoor terrace (weather permitting) for refreshments, business networking and further discussion of the implications and opportunities of the Building Safety Act.

Speakers

Graham Oliphant - Director of Fire, Bellrock Group

Graham is the Director of Fire for Oakleaf Surveying, part of the Bellrock Group, specialising in High-Risk Buildings and providing pragmatic solutions for Clients.

He forged a 14-year career in the Fire Service with the LFB, operationally as well as strategically, assisting the Organisation adapt new Incident Command approaches to address the changing nature of challenges required from a public service.

He then turned around a leading Risk Consultancy managing teams of Risk Assessors in a post-Grenfell climate. He then joined a large Managing Agent and set up and led their Building Safety Team, with oversight of 3000 buildings, successfully preparing 152 HRBs for the new Regulatory regime.

With in depth knowledge of the Leasehold sector combined with an acute appreciation of the Building Safety Act and the challenges presented by the new Gateway system he is sought after by Clients to assist them in navigating the new legislation landscape.

He is a regular speaker at key industry events such as the Housing Forum as well as providing online webinars and training. He holds a degree and 3 diplomas and is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building as well as lead Tutor on the Level 6 Diploma Course for Building Safety Managers, endorsed by the CIOB.

He is inquisitive about how new technology can deliver smarter solutions, and always challenging the status quo to drive better outcomes. He guides his team to be problem solvers and provide intelligent, pragmatic, risk based, solutions for Clients.
