IoD Scotland’s Highlands & Islands branch, in partnership with Aberdeen Highlands and Islands branch, Energy Institute, invite you to join them for their next Leadership Journeys event with guest speaker Stuart Black.
Stuart is the CEO of Highlands & Islands Enterprise as well as a director of Economic Development Association Scotland. He is skilled in business planning, community engagement, renewable energy, economic development and public relations. Stuart has a PhD. in Town and Regional Planning from the University of Glasgow and holds a first-class honours degree in Geography from the University of Edinburgh.
Join us at the Kingsmills Hotel in inverness for a networking breakfast and to hear Stuart’s leadership journey as well as his take on our regional economy from his unique and insightful position.

Stuart Black
Stuart Black is the Chief Executive of Highlands and Islands Enterprise, the Scottish Government’s economic and community development agency for the region. He was appointed to this position in January 2022 after two years as HIE’s Area Manager for Moray.
From 2008 to 2020, Stuart was a member of the senior team at the Highland Council, initially as director of planning and development, and later as executive chief officer for transformation and economy.
