Join the IoD at International Bomber Command Lincoln for a black-tie dinner with entertainment from the Rutland Big Band and guest speaker Alan Whittle MBE.

Enjoy a 3-course meal at the International Bomber Command with local leaders and hear from Alan Whittle MBE about his experience in defence and business.

This is a great opportunity to network with local professionals at an important, historical venue with after-dinner entertainment from speaker Alan Whittle MBE & the fantastic Rutland Big Band.

This is a black-tie event.

Speakers

Alan Whittle MBE

Alan started his working life with an aircraft engineering apprenticeship with the Army at the age of 16.
Following tours of Germany and Hong Kong he successfully past aircrew selection and for the next 24 years served as an Army helicopter pilot serving on operational tours in Northern Ireland, Kuwait, Iraq, Bosnia, Kosovo and Afghanistan.

He was awarded the MBE for services to the Special Forces in the Millennium New Year’s Honours list. He was one of the first 6 UK Apache Attack Helicopter pilots and served his last 10 years as a weapons instructor, electronic warfare instructor, senior flying instructor and lastly as the commanding officer of the UK Apache conversion Squadron.

On leaving the military he joined a very small Lincoln based company called Inzpire that specialised in providing technical and training services to the armed forces.
Initially he formed their helicopter services division which he developed and grew and provided rotary based training and services to customers across the globe whilst gaining valuable business experience and often learning the hard way!
He has since held the posts of Managed Services Director and Chief Operations Officer and now holds the post of Director of Strategy and Planning.
Whilst still not a large business he has steered Inzpire from a 3 person start up to 300 employees and a turnover of £30m.
Married with one 10 year old son he has restored a chateau in France for 6 years and now lives in Long Bennington.
