In conversation with Stuart Black, Chief Executive, Highlands & Islands Enterprise (HIE)
Stuart Black will share with us HIE's new five-year strategy, setting out its long-term vision and ambitions for the Highlands and Islands as a leading net zero region with a dynamic wellbeing economy, which benefits its growing population and makes a valued contribution to Scotland.
There are prospects across sectors with the scale and potential to transform our region. Taking an innovative approach and working in partnership with others, we'll hear Stuart's thoughts on how, under his leadership, HIE will continue to be an effective economic and community development agency that supports and serves all parts of the Highlands and Islands.

Stuart Black
Stuart is the Chief Executive of Highlands and Islands Enterprise, the Scottish Government’s economic and community development agency for the region. He was appointed to this position in January 2022 after two years as HIE’s Area Manager for Moray. He was previously Director of Development and Infrastructure at Highland Council.
In 2023 Stuart was awarded the IoD Scotland Director of the Year for Public Sector as well as Highlands and Islands Regional Director of the Year.
