Ged Nichols
Commissioner
Ged is the General Secretary of the specialist financial services trade union Accord.
He is a strong advocate of progressive trade unionism; grown up unions working positively with decent employers to improve the quality of members’ working lives. He was first elected in 1993 and has held the position ever since.
Ged was President of the TUC from September 2019 to September 2020.
He was appointed as a non-executive director of the Health & Safety Executive in 2019 and still holds that position.
He is a trustee of the TUC’s pension scheme and a director of Trade Union Fund Managers.
