Dr. Hande Côté

Dr. Hande Côté is an engineering leader with over 17 years of international experience in the energy, chemicals, manufacturing, and utilities sectors.
Currently at National Grid, she manages 17 projects integrating clean, low-carbon power into England and Wales’ transmission network. Previously, as Head of Engineering at Johnson Matthey, she led the transition of 28 global production sites to net-zero principles.
Hande has managed large-scale offshore projects in the Gulf of Mexico and Gulf of Guinea, fostering safety and developing local teams in Ghana, Kenya, and Mexico. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge and a research fellowship from Imperial College London. An advocate for women in STEM, she is active in the Women’s Engineering Society and serves as a Non-Executive Director on the Industrial Advisory Board at the University of Leeds and the Women in Manufacturing UK Initiative.
