The IoD Guernsey Branch represents members throughout the islands of the Bailiwick of Guernsey – Guernsey, Alderney, Sark & Herm. Membership is approaching 700 and includes more than 25 chartered directors.
Members have the opportunity to attend a monthly luncheon at which a prominent or specialist member of the community delivers a talk covering a topical issue. Additionally, through the winter, a series of seminars are held. Please see the events schedule for more information.
A formal dinner is held each February and an annual conference each October. The branch also is actively engaged with other local business organisations and makes representations to the States of Guernsey on matters of interest and concern to its membership.
For over 20 years, the branch has annually organised management shadowing where lower VI students attending local schools and colleges are offered the opportunity to shadow directors/sernior managers working in both the public and private sector. A booklet describing the scheme can be downloaded here and the Student Application Form is available here.
Any director who is interested to learn more about this scheme is asked to contact Martyn Mann
