Janhavi Dadarkar
IoD Course Leader

Business experience

Janhavi Dadarkar has over a decade of experience in advising companies, directors and enterprising individuals on company law, corporate governance and intellectual property protection. She is a recognised expert on commercial transactions with an international flavour and has worked with directors, organisations and governments at the highest levels.

Before starting her own healthcare and media consultancy and a boutique India-focused advisory firm, Janhavi spent many years in well-known international city law firms as a corporate and media lawyer. She now focuses on facilitating business and philanthropic aspirations through her roles on advisory boards as a non-executive, an in-house general counsel or a trustee.

Professional credentials and training experience
Janhavi has authored many guides and articles on various topics, including doing business in India, best corporate practices and joint ventures. Prior to becoming an IoD Course leader, Janhavi was a non-executive member of the IoD’s board of examiners and was the lead presenter at BPP for various city institutions. Janhavi is also an IoD coach and works with directors who want to better understand the regulatory framework and commercial practicalities of leading organisations.

Mike Blackburn OBE
Regional Chair
IoD North West and Isle of Man

Mike lives in the North West and until January 2018 was Chair of BT’s NW Regional Board, a role he held from 2007, and also Head of Digital Government in the UK until 2018.

Mike has a number of non-exec roles including Chair of the Greater Manchester Local Enterprise Partnership which sits at the heart of Greater Manchester’s governance arrangements, ensuring that business leaders are empowered to set the strategic course, determine local economic priorities and drive growth and job creation within the city region.

Mike holds a number of other Non-Exec or Trustee roles, Board member of Lancashire Enterprise Partnership, Chair of the Institute of Directors (IOD) in the North West and Non exec Director of Transport for the North

Mike was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in June 2015 for services to the economy in the North West.
