Business experience

In the past 12 years, as an executive coach, he has helped over 120 CEOs/ MDs from 22 different countries achieve their goals, as well as Team GB/ England sports coaches in rowing, cricket, diving and target shooting. He is the coaching subject matter expert at the Chartered Management Institute and a member of the CEO coaching faculty at Manchester Business School, Vistage, the Institute of Directors (IoD), UK Sport and the NHS. He was a board advisor coaching international CEOs/MDs and their teams over a ten year period at global corporates Jones Lang LaSalle, CGI and Telenor.

In his business career, John has been an award-winning entrepreneur, FTSE100 International Managing Director and director of Fast Track 100 technology consultancy, Team121, which was sold to Logica for £86m in 1999. He has worked in both the public and private sectors and across a diverse range of industries, being well-versed in the demands of start-ups, charities, SMEs and multi-national plc organisations. Example clients include the BBC, Capita, British Airways, Kellogg’s, VW Group, Capgemini, UNICEF and Network Rail.

 

Professional credentials and training experience

John is a fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and a Board Chair with Vistage International. He holds the Professional Credentialed Coach (PCC) qualification with the International Coach Federations with 6,000+ coaching hours and 800+ coach training hours. He is the author of two leadership texts, ‘Challenging Coaching’ and ‘The Trusted Executive’, which have both received widespread acclaim in the international leadership community. Academically, John has a BSc, an MBA and an MSc in information systems. He is currently researching the role of CEO leadership in building organisational trust at Aston Business School as part of a professional doctorate programme (DBA).
