Older entrepreneurs: the new start-up generation

15 Mar 2017

An increasing number of people aged over 50 are starting out as entrepreneurs.

For some this reflects a need to maintain earnings as the official retirement age rises. The problem of ageism in recruitment can also convince people to go it alone. But for many, it is setting still-active bodies and minds a fresh challenge that matters. Expect to hear terms such as ‘olderpreneur’ and ‘silver start-ups’ more often as these ‘third act’ entrepreneurs redefine what is possible in our working lives.
