David Grindall re-joined the IoD Advisory Service in 2013, having served on the Advisory Panel in the past.
David is a practising solicitor and as such is a member of the Law Society and authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. He is also a Member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
David advises on the contracts that are invariably needed in formal business dealings including standard terms of business and bespoke contracts; shareholder agreements; limited liability partnership agreements; company advice including management of meetings and general aspects of company law. In his employment law work he has the advantage of advising both employers and employees dealing with service agreements, employment contracts and arrangements; settlement agreements and various procedural requirements.
Since qualifying as a solicitor in 1976, he worked with Royds Barfield Solicitors in Bedford Square WC1, before becoming an in-house solicitor with The Distillers Company plc Legal Department (international drinks group, now called Diageo) covering property, general company/commercial, contractual and employment work for the various group companies.
Later on, David was Group Solicitor and General Counsel at the Young & Rubicam Group of Companies in London dealing with and/or managing a wide range of legal and related issues, before setting up his own practice in 1995.
In 2000, he established the firm Grindall & Hanna, Solicitors with Sara Hanna, and continues to advise SMEs and private clients on a broad range of commercial and contractual issues.
