G20 Young Entrepreneurs Alliance delegates discuss Downing Street visit

02 Nov 2017

IoD 99 members outside Number 10 Downing Street

Last month, after a trip to Number 10 Downing Street, we met up with the delegation of IoD 99 members who attended June's G20 Young Entrepreneurs Summit in Berlin.

This was the annual event for the G20 Young Entrepreneurs Alliance (G20 YEA), a body which works with the Business 20 and G20 Leaders to affect policy change for entrepreneurs. The summit bought together over 400 leading entrepreneurs from across the globe to share best practice, network, hear from thought leaders and create business opportunities.

During the summit, attendees established a communiqué which focused on specific recommendations to policy leaders that would enable their businesses to scale internationally. The Alliance is supported by two global knowledge partners, EY and Accenture who provide research and context through their reports addressing these recommendations. This year EY presented a report on policy actions to grow digital entrepreneurship and Accenture focused on embracing artificial intelligence.

But the journey for these delegates did not stop there… On the 16 October, our delegates were invited by the Prime Minister’s office at visit 10 Downing Street to meet with the Prime Ministers Special Adviser for Business to discuss their experience and the priorities from  the summit - sharing the communiqué from the summit, and the reports by EY and Accenture. The delegation were also joined by senior representatives from the G20 Young Entrepreneurs Alliance and representatives of the two Knowledge Partners.

Rather than try and explain this unique opportunity in words we thought it would be far more interesting to hear directly from those that took part. The following are two videos are from IoD 99ers who attended the summit and also visited Number 10 as well as the representatives from EY and Accenture.

In the first video we hear from Ferron Gray of Grae Matta, Ben Gamble of Quincus, and Madhu Vazirani of Accenture:

In the second video we hear from Tomasz Letniowski of Traductio, Abigail Bulley of Little Bea Community, and Rebecca Hiscock-Croft of EY:
