IoD Centre for Corporate Governance What are your views on stakeholder management?

The IoD Centre for Corporate Governance is looking for IoD members' views on stakeholder governance

This summer the IoD established the IoD Centre for Corporate Governance, providing an opportunity to bring together a range of stakeholders with a common interest in governance, stewardship and ESG issues.

Though initiated by the IoD, the Centre operates at arms-length allowing it to maintain balance, impartiality and to recognise diverse perspectives, overseen by an expert Advisory Board that includes former Lloyd’s CEO Dame Inga Beale, the Saïd Business School’s Colin Mayer CBE, and BlackRock’s Amra Balic.

Over the last six months, the Centre has embarked upon three initial projects which we hope will generate thought-provoking insights on the following topics:

  • Stakeholder Governance
  • Regenerative Business
  • The implications of AI and other emerging technologies for corporate governance

These Working Groups have been active over recent months meeting virtually to determine the scope of work they’ll undertake and areas that warrant further investigation.

The Stakeholder Governance Working Group would like to better understand how Directors perceive the topic and would like to hear from IoD members.

The Working Group would greatly value the views and perspectives of IoD members on the value of stakeholder engagement and their experiences bringing stakeholder perspectives into boardroom decision making. The Working Group is gathering view initially via an online survey – to complete the survey please click here.
