Responding to the launch of a new government Office for Investment, aimed at attracting foreign investment to the UK, Allie Renison, Senior Policy Advisor at the Institute of Directors, said:
“Given the twin challenges of Covid and the end of Brexit transition for UK plc, the IoD very much welcomes the new Office for Investment. Trade and investment are inextricably linked, and it remains essential to shore up any economic recovery through focusing on bringing more business to the UK.
"Crucial to attracting and retaining FDI are solid fundamentals for investors to rely on. To unlock further opportunities, the government must do all it can to provide an environment that continues to offer stable footing on tax, trade and regulation. Landing a good deal with the EU will ensure we remain on that path.”
