Earlier this month, the IoD’s HQ at 116 Pall Mall was transformed into Open House, an event designed to inform, entertain and inspire the business leaders of today and tomorrow.
The range of guest speakers included Baroness Karren Brady, McLaren Automotive CEO Mike Flewitt, Paralympian hero Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, Brexit Minister Robin Walker MP, RSA chief executive Matthew Taylor, LinkedIn’s UK boss Josh Graff, BBC presenter and journalist Carrie Grace, and Mind CEO Paul Farmer CBE.

56 sessions were held from Monday to Wednesday on topics that ranged from cryptocurrencies to cyber security, unprofessional innovation to ethical disruption and artificial intelligence to emotional intelligence
21 young entrepreneurs volunteered to appear on stage alongside IoD 99 chairman Alex Mitchell to each deliver a signature IoD 99 one-minute micropitch to delegates in the Main Room on Monday morning
450 litres of coffee were consumed along with 1,950 soft drinks

94 speakers appeared in sessions held across three rooms on the second floor at 116 Pall Mall
51% of those attended are currently IoD members and 49% are non-members

13/03/18 was the date that the IoD signed the Armed Forces Covenant, which will see the IoD providing former servicemen and women with access to the organisation’s expert network of advice and resources. The IoD will also champion stronger links between the business community and the Armed Forces
