Continuing the IoD’s commitment to championing increased awareness surrounding Mental Health and Wellbeing in the Workplace, this week the IoD has given its name to support a new initiative from the Mental Health at Work gateway.
Alongside a number of leading businesses, the IoD has signed up to a new 'Mental Health at Work' commitment, signalling the desire to improve mental wellbeing at work. This continues to be one of the key focuses for the Inclusive Business campaign.
The commitment sets out six standards for industry to aim towards. These include prioritizing mental health in the workplace by developing and delivering a systematic programme of activity, and promoting an open culture around mental health.
The full list of standards and more information about the campaign can be found here.
'There are no quick fixes or simple solutions when it comes to mental health,' commented Barclays chair, Sir Ian Cheshire. 'Yet there’s no ignoring the fact that work is often a contributory factor for people whose mental health is suffering.'
