Alex Mitchell and Jamie Kerr return for another IoD 99 Bites episode, this week looking at fundraising for female entrepreneurs, with guest 99 member Julia Elliot Brown.
After the Beast from the East parts one and two, we have finally entered spring and to celebrate here is a brand new IoD 99 Bites!
In this week’s video our colleague from the Policy Unit, Jamie Kerr, gives us a run-through on all things Brexit (it has been a busy week or two!) and he also touches on one or two key points from last week’s Spring Statement.
As always we have a fantastic 99er with us and this week it is the turn of Julia Elliot Brown, who is the founder of Enter The Arena, a business that works with female founders to help them raise finance to enable growth.
Roughly a third of founders in the UK are female, but significantly less than 10% of funds raised by start-ups in the UK go to female-founded businesses. This is an important topic and one which needs to be addressed.
We also mention the IoD’s recent signing of the Armed Forces Covenant, the goings on at IoD Open House and because we are awesome and love you guys, we sign off with three excellent top tips from Julia on what to keep in mind when you are looking at raising finance.
