Welcoming the Department for International Trade’s announcement of a new tool allowing businesses to report trade barriers, Allie Renison, Head of Europe and Trade Policy at the Institute of Directors, said:
“This new tool marks a prime example of the common-sense, effective measures Government must take to sharpen our game on the world stage.
“Crucially, this initiative highlights that Government can take action to help firms identify and tackle overseas trade barriers in real time, without having to wait for formal trade negotiations to begin this process. Improving the tie-up between business and Government is vital to developing a cohesive and meaningful exporting strategy.
“We are delighted the Government has taken this IoD recommendation forward. We look forward to continuing our work with the Department for International Trade to ensure Global Britain can become a reality for more enterprises.”
