We are delighted to announce that the IoD was recently awarded “Best Institution” at the e-Assessment Association gala dinner on 22nd of March in London.
The e-Assessment Award acknowledges individual organisations that have undertaken exceptional work in the field of formative or summative e-assessment, to make a positive change to their existing assessment practices.
The IoD was recognised for its innovative and forward looking approach, moving the examination process from paper based exam to e-assessment in “a remarkably quick time”.
The independent panel of judging experts stated: “The assessment team at the IoD managed to migrate a paper based examination into an electronic one for all candidates within a year, and delivered real benefits to their learners and the institution.
What was impressive was the way that the IoD had studied the behaviour of the test takers when they were using paper and used this to provide in the online examinations. There was clear evidence that learners were taking advantage of the new opportunity to choose a more incremental approach to sitting the exams”.
“We were thrilled to win the award and felt especially proud to work for the IoD and to have received recognition for the work we have done to improve our candidates’ experience’’ - says Teresa Jacobs, Head of Examinations and Professional Standards and Jasmine Palmer-Lacey, Senior Examinations Manager, IoD.
The awards programme received entries from organisations working in every continent across the globe and across a wide range of sectors, with shortlisted finalists for each category and winners selected by a highly-experienced, international panel of experts.
The e-Assessment awards were attended by over 100 guests from several sectors, including the accounting/finance sector, healthcare and higher education, representing the diversity of the technical innovation that is present in the international e-assessment industry today.
