The IoD’s new course, Future Directors, is launching this autumn, and we’re keen to hear from Chartered Directors who’d be interested in being guest speakers at the evening networking event that takes place on the first day of the course. Aimed at senior managers and heads of department who are aspiring to a board role in 1 – 3 years’ time, the interactive three-day course introduces delegates to the mind-sets and interpersonal skills required at board level, and helps them to identify their future development needs in the context of the director’s role. It’s intended for aspirants at an earlier stage in their careers than those who typically attend the Certificate in Company Direction.
The Chartered Director guest speaker will be asked to give a 20-minute talk on ‘Five things I wish I’d known before becoming a director’, drawing on their own career experience and offering practical insights into the reality of life on a board. This will be followed by a Q&A session. Initially, the programme is being offered as both a residential and non-residential course. On residential courses, guest speakers will be offered dinner and one night’s accommodation.
Further information about the programme can be seen here. If you're interested in learning more about this opportunity, please contact us and we’ll be glad to provide more details.
