Eliot Lincoln is the founder and Managing Director of Greenlight, the Channel Islands leading independent business change specialists. Greenlight’s growing portfolio of clients spans the UK, Europe and South America.

Why did you become a member of the IoD?
"For me, the IoD represents the mark of quality for all directors. The IoD is an organisation that is not only steeped in tradition, but also forward-looking. When I set up Greenlight, I wanted to ensure that I spent time with the right people. I had somewhere to go that had interesting people to talk to and members that I could learn from. I have certainly benefited from the interaction and information available through formal discussions and informal lunches."
What does being a member mean to you?
"It means I have a network of peers that I know are there when I need them, from regular lunches to the Annual Convention, as well as access to places like Pall Mall when my trips take me to London. Having that network to call upon, whether face-to-face or as part of the many LinkedIn discussion groups, means that whatever the challenge being faced, there are others to interact with that can help."
How significant was it for you to win the IoD Young Director of the Year?
"It was fantastic to get recognition for what the Greenlight team had accomplished. When you’re right in the thick of things, it is sometimes difficult to see just what you have achieved, but the submissions process and the subsequent interactions with my peers went to show that the Greenlight story has been a special one.”
Have you made good contacts as a result of your membership?
"Yes. Without a doubt. The IoD has been one of the best ways to meet those individuals who are helping to shape the local business community. I am so glad that this organisation exists and I welcome the regular lunches and events, and look forward to future opportunities to expand my network."
