What was the main challenge you experienced as a student before joining the IoD?
"Before becoming a member, I found it difficult to find the right platform or series of platforms to network with business professionals, which changed after joining."
What have you found as a result of being an IoD Student Member?
"There are so many opportunities out there to improve my knowledge on the business world and increase networking which can mainly be done through IoD events."
How long have you been a member of the IoD Student network?
"I am nearing the end of my second year as a student member but looking forward to carrying on next year."
What is your favourite thing about being part of the IoD Student community?
"The opportunity to network with other members in my local area. Being able to represent the university at IoD events and have access to such events for free/low cost and applying this into my university assignments."

"Having access to the IoD Student Member LinkedIn Group gives me a chance to talk to other student members from across the nations that have similar attributes.
Being a part of The IoD Student Membership is a popular and great talking point in interviews as it helps to show my keen interest in the current business environment.
Lastly, having access to exclusive Regional Events in the North West Region that cover different industry sectors for a reduced price is a great advantage."

How has the relationship between the IoD and your University been of benefit to you?
"It has given me greater opportunities to learn more about the business world for example having access to the IoD Open House."
What does being an entrepreneur mean to you?
"It’s the persistent progression towards an innovative solution to a key problem. Imagining new ways to solve problems and create value."
What would you say to anyone considering becoming a student member and would you recommend it?
"Make sure you are an active member as it truly makes a difference and improves your overall university experience."
If you could give one piece of advice to fellow students, what would it be and why?
“Start networking and job searching NOW, there is so much job competition. The IoD is a perfect way to boost you above the rest."
