Wine Tasting with The Alba Wine Guy
Our members tell us that connecting with fellow directors is important to you, but rather than just “networking” we find connecting with fellow members over an activity creates a much more conducive environment for forming deeper relationships than the usual “business chat”.
We are delighted to welcome Euan Robertson – the ‘Alba Wine Guy’ – who will take us through an oenophillic delight!
You will get to sample 6 wines in total, 3 white and 3 red, with the wines specially selected to tantalise your taste buds. A fun quiz at the end will determine which of our members deserves the honour of being crowned the IoD’s resident wine expert!
Meet from 6.30 for a 7 pm start. The wine tasting will take around 2 hours.
There is ample parking at the Stirling Highland Hotel, but we have selected the venue as it is a short walk from Stirling station, with direct trains from both Edinburgh, Glasgow and more. Grab a train so you can enjoy the drink (although there will be a spittoon for anyone who is driving so you can still enjoy the experience).
About Euan:
Euan is a local director as well as a self-confessed wine geek. He decided to add some theory to his love of wine. He currently holds the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) level 2 and level 3 and Diploma qualifications. He was admitted to the Master of Wine (MW) program of which there are only 421 in the world today, across 30 countries. He is a member of the Wine Scholar Guild, is a Diploma Marker for Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) and carries out regular tastings. His mission is to impart a little knowledge, so that people can experiment with wine styles they are unfamiliar with. His mantra is “Life is too short for sh&* wine”.
