Join us for a new take on our traditional Dining Club events – the Thought Leadership evening.

Throughout this series we'll be introducing you to guest speakers from a diverse range of professional backgrounds to offer their thoughts on a big-picture topic of relevance to the Isle of Man.

Chatham House rules enables the opportunity for candid conversation between speaker and guests.

For our first event in the series we are thrilled to welcome Craig Tregurtha - former Managing Editor of The Times Newspaper.

Subject choice was plentiful, however conversation will focus on ' The importance of credible and real journalism in an era of 'fake news'...

Craig Tregurtha

Senior Advisor, ACE Hollreiser

Craig spent 30 years as a journalist, holding a number of senior positions at major UK news organisations. Prior to joining ACE Hollreiser in Douglas as a senior advisor, Craig spent 10 years as the Group Managing Editor of Times Newspapers Ltd, where he led a digital transformation that helped both The Times and Sunday Times into significant profit. He was responsible for managing one of the largest newsrooms in the UK as well as leading the budget, staff, crisis management, recruitment, and strategy across both titles.

 

Craig also regularly edited daily editions of The Times and was a member of the Times Newspaper Holding Ltd board. Earlier in his career, Craig served as Digital Editor of The Times, sports editor of The Sunday Mirror and assistant sports editor at The Sun.

 

Format

The evening will begin at 7.00pm with a drinks reception.

A set three course meal will be served from 7:30pm followed by tea/coffee. Price includes a welcome drink on arrival and the bar will be open for additional purchases.

All guests are welcome to book via Rachel and an invoice can be issued.

Once booked Rachel will contact you to confirm any dietary requirements.
