Roundtable lunch with Michelle Thomson MSP
The IoD Central Scotland branch is delighted to invite you to an in-person roundtable lunch with Michelle Thomson MSP.
Ms Thomson, MSP for Falkirk East, is a member of the Scottish Parliament’s Finance Committee and its Education Committee. As such, she oversees the Scottish Budget and decisions on fiscal policy and devolved taxes as well as skills development. She is also a Convenor of several cross-party groups in the Scottish Parliament, including Women In Enterprise and St. Andrews Day. Before becoming an MSP, she was an MP for Edinburgh West, serving as the SNP Business, Innovation and Skills spokesperson in the House of Commons.
Prior to her life in politics, she held senior roles delivering IT and business change at both Standard Life and RBS, and she has also founded and run her own small businesses, understanding first-hand the challenges that both corporate and small business leaders face.
The focus of the discussion is likely to be on trading conditions, the economic outlook, and how government might assist. In addition to providing an excellent opportunity to engage with a prominent MSP, the lunch will also provide a timely opportunity to discuss with her the outcome of the Scottish Budget. The event is being held in the McCowan lounge at Glenbervie Golf Club, with lunch provided by Ciro’s restaurant – one of Falkirk’s most highly regarded restaurants. Glenbervie has ample parking, and being located just off the M876 provides excellent access links.
The ticket price is £40 which includes two courses (or you can choose to upgrade to three courses for £50). Menu below.
