Business experience
Charles is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He has been a Finance and
Systems Director in the US. He was European Head of Strategic Development
at Mars Snack Foods, where he worked with the board on a wide range of
strategic,marketingand financial issues.
Charles set up a training,consulting and coaching service in 2001. His clients
typically engage him to take a group of leaders or managers to the next level
of performance. He supports his clients on a wide range of issues including
leadership, strategy setting, cultural development, new business models, KPI
setting and dashboards, branding, marketing and business development, new
value propositions,networkingand management development. He also offers
competitor war-games, which are a powerful way of developing a strategy to
outsmart and outperform competitors in highly competitive markets.
Professional credentials and training experience
Charles is in demand because of his ability to make complex topics clear, and
dry subjects interesting. He has trained at businesses of all sizes and in many
sectors, including food, pharmaceuticals, retail, sportswear, telecoms, IT,
sovereign wealth funds and magic circle law firms. His training clients are from
all over the UK and Europe, the US, the MiddleEast and Asia.
He has an MA from Christ Church, Oxford. While at Mars, he also trained as a
coach and facilitator. He is qualified to administer MBTI and FIRO-B. He has
been a Guest Lecturer at the University of Brighton. He is a Non-Executive
Director of a successful events business, and he volunteers as a trained
listener, mentor, trustee, knowledge manager and data protection officer at a
suicide prevention helpline.
