Business as a force for good and growth
The new UK government has committed itself to pursuing economic growth as a national mission. At the same time, UK business faces an urgent need to rebuild trust in its role as a key societal actor, especially in the light of recent scandals at the Post Office, Carillion and elsewhere.
This keynote event will explore how the business community should go about reconciling the equally important goals of UK economic revitalisation and the regaining of public trust in the wealth-creating sector. It will also mark the launch of the IoD’s Code of Conduct for Directors, which has been developed by a Commission under the chairmanship of Lord Iain McNicol of West Kilbride.
Following a welcome from Justin Madders MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, we will hear from two panels:
- IoD Code of Conduct for directors
- Keynote: Lord Iain McNicol
- Jon Geldart, IoD Director General
- Liz Barclay, Small Business Commissioner
- Professor Roger Steare, The Corporate Philosopher
