The IoD has launched a search for directors to take on three key roles within our regional Yorkshire and North East team.
We are looking for members to take on the voluntary roles of Regional Board Deputy Chair, Diversity and Inclusion Ambassador and Chartered Director Ambassador.
The Deputy Chair will play an important role in supporting the Chair in driving forward the regional strategy and business plan, whilst upholding national IoD policies, activities and standards and ensuring that our growing army of ambassadors are kept fully and accurately briefed on them.
The Deputy Chair will help to maintain a strong profile at IoD events and will occasionally be required to chair or speak at them.
Along with the Chair and committee members, the Deputy Chair will also actively promote the IoD by building and developing connections with local businesses and other stakeholders such as LEPs, public sector bodies and universities.
IoD Ambassadors ensure that everything the IoD does places the member first. They enable greater connectivity with members, support and guide peer to peer discussion and learning and development while giving a local voice and presence to the Institute. They are the means by which IoD national policy reflects local issues and can be contextualised locally.
Each Ambassador leads on a sector or portfolio area, which best aligns with their core personal expertise. Ambassadors provide thought leadership, support and guidance on their area of expertise. They also contribute to a programme of relevant and engaging events to inspire and connect members.
Our regional Chartered Director Ambassadors are members who have achieved the Chartered Director qualification and are passionate about professional development and building the next generation of skilled leaders.
As Diversity and Inclusion Ambassador, you will help to ensure that the IoD is an open and fair organisation that offers a warm welcome and equal opportunities for all directors to connect and develop.
If you are a pragmatic director who is tuned into local and regional issues, these are great opportunities to be the ‘voice’ of the IoD for your area.
Applicants should be IoD members with demonstrable skills in the associated fields. In return, there are fantastic opportunities to grow your network and influence the operation of the IoD branch.
Interested candidates should send their CV and covering letter to firstname.lastname@example.org.
