IoD North Yorkshire is joining forces with York Business School for a ‘Meet the Dealmakers’ event involving some of the region’s top business funders and advisors.
Entrepreneurs or small groups seeking investment are invited to pitch their business idea to a panel of experts including private equity investors, debt providers and professional business advisors.
The full-day event takes place on 21 September at York St John University.
There will plenty of practical advice on hand as entrepreneurs attempt to secure an investment and receive feedback on their pitch.
The event kicks off with an address from Bob Gammie, Dean of the Business School and Jon Geldart, IoD Director General.
They will be followed by keynote speakers exploring how to raise money and how debt fits into financing your business.
Three pitching sessions will focus on seed capital, continuation funding and buyouts. There will also be pitches from Business School students.
Caroline Pullich, chair, IoD North Yorkshire, said: “Pitching your business idea to lenders can be challenging and nerve-wracking. This exciting partnership between the IoD, York Business School, investors and advisors will demystify the process and demonstrate how entrepreneurs can boost their chances of a successful outcome.”
