In this digital age, your business is faced with many threats, and we want to help you safeguard your business.
There may be threats that you haven’t given much consideration to, but you need to be alert and aware of them – such as the threats of on-line crime and fraud; blackmail and contamination of your products and labour exploitation/modern day slavery.
Dyfed Powys Police and Pembrokeshire College has teamed up to host an event that will raise your awareness of how organised criminals can target your business and what you can do to prevent being targeted or how to respond if you are!
These are complex issues, but there will have experts on hand to guide you through it all.
- Dave Griffiths from the National Crime Agency will talk us through blackmail and product contamination. We realise the devastating effect that organised criminals or a disgruntled employee/customer or supplier can cause your business through product contamination or the threat there of. Dave will explain how you can report this to the Police and still seek to safeguard your business.
- Chris Phillips from the Regional Organised Crime Unit, Cyber Crime Team will provide expert advice on how to prevent your business becoming a victim of cyber-crime or cyber fraud, and what to do if you were to fall victim to this type of crime.
- Paul Callard from Dyfed Powys Police Financial Crime Team will give advice about how to protect your business from internal employee fraud.
- Dr Sue Hurrell from the Commercial Directorate of the Welsh Government and Jenni Edwards an industry leader in modern slavery and ethical trade, will advise on how to ensure that your business and your suppliers use ethical supply chains and avoid exploitation of labour.
This is a unique opportunity in West Wales to make sure you are equipped and prepared to protect your business against these increasingly common crimes. Think of the possible consequences to your business if you bury your head in the sand rather than face these threats head on – prevention is better than cure.
Therefore, you and your colleagues are invited to attend the event at Pembrokeshire College, Merlins Bridge, Haverfordwest – between 4.30pm and 7pm on Monday, November 19. There will be no cost to you, and refreshments will be provided.
