Advance members equate to 5% and Kent Chartered Directors total almost 3%. We also have 16 young student members represent Directors of the future.
Helping Kent business leaders succeed through making powerful connections
SAVE THE DATE: KMEP and Business Summit with MPs:
Friday 20th July | 1.30pm to 4.30pm | Maidstone Studios
Established by the Government in the early 2010s, Local Enterprise Partnerships are vehicles to drive economic growth and are tasked to create the right conditions for prosperity. In the South East, due to its size and scale, the South East Local Enterprise Partnership (SELEP) has implemented a federated model, with the Kent and Medway Economic Partnership (KMEP) tasked with leading the economic growth agenda in our local area.
KMEP brings together all 14 local authority leaders, the FE and HE education providers, and crucially businesses to ascertain the economic opportunities that can be realised in Kent and Medway through partnership working.
One area we want to concentrate on is engaging more productively with our Members of Parliament and the wider business community. We recognise that you and MPs are an integral, important part of the Partnership, and without your support, we cannot maximise the economic growth in the area. To be effective, we must have a two-way dialogue with you to know your priorities and desired objectives.
To that end, I write today to invite you to attend a summit on the afternoon of Friday 20th July at the Maidstone Studios.
The event will start at 1.30pm where you could meet with members of KMEP, and peruse market-place stands showing some of the investment priorities that KMEP and SELEP have funded so far using Local Growth Funding. At 2pm, there will be a series of short presentations by KMEP business representatives on the policies and investments that the Partnership and wider business community feel are essential strands of any local industrial strategy/growth strategy. Following each presentation, there will be a period of time devoted to a ‘BBC Question Time’ style debate, with the MPs on the top table. The event should conclude at approximately 4.30pm.
Due to seating capacity, we will be offering places on a first come, first served basis. We will also be keeping a waiting list, so we can offer any spare places that become available closer to the event.
We very much hope that you will be able to attend this event. If you do wish to attend the event, please could you email firstname.lastname@example.org
Finally, for administrative purposes, it would be very helpful if you could state how you heard of the event (i.e. through FSB, IOD, KICC, etc) in the email requesting a place. Thank you
