Message from IoD Scotland's National Director Malcolm Cannon
The IoD in Scotland remains resolute in its efforts to support both its members and the broader Scottish economy through these strange and challenging times. The coronavirus has struck the entire economy and no sector or geographical region is, or will be, unaffected. Thus, our continued joint efforts both alongside our members and alongside the other Business membership and lobbying groups, will become ever more important. We will act together to share important updates and communicate key policy changes to the business community. But likewise, and even more importantly in some ways, we will act as a rapid and streamlined conduit for information from the frontline to governments’ decisions makers both in Holyrood and in Westminster. We are in daily contact with policy makers and those with influence, shaping the very solutions that will help see our businesses through this time of crisis.
We are so much stronger when we come together so please do get in touch, let us know what issues you are facing and what you want to see from government and others to help. What we want to say to everyone, company owners, business leaders, directors – whether you are a member of the IoD or not – you are most definitely not alone.
Stay safe, stay well and please follow government guidelines to reduce the impact on our NHS.
“We all want to succeed in our organisations and learning to be more effective leaders, promoting good governance, transparency and trust is at the heart of what IoD Scotland represents. By engaging across our communities, and helping to influence policy and practice, we can ensure Scotland is a great place to work, live and thrive”.
Aidan O’Carroll, Chair, IoD Scotland
