Paul Battye Appointed As Chair Of Manchester Branch Of IoD North West

The North West Institute of Directors has announced the appointment of Paul Battye as Chair of its Manchester branch.

The Institute of Directors (IoD) is the UK’s longest-running organisation for professional leaders, and is supported nationwide throughout a network of regional branches. IoD NW has approximately 1,800 members covering the region, who have access to a calendar of high quality and diverse events and training programmes as well as many other practical solutions to support business growth and enhance leadership.

Paul’s appointment was approved by the national IoD board at a meeting in February; he takes up the post immediately. Speaking of the news he said: “I am delighted to formally take up this role, extending the work I’ve been doing as acting chair.

“Manchester is home to major industries which impact greatly on the boarder UK economy; it’s my role as branch chair to help promote them and maximise the potential and opportunities we have in this city and across the broader city region.”

Battye is founding chief executive of Moorlands Human Capital, a specialist executive search and talent management consultancy. Moorlands Human Capital is a member of the Kennedy Executive Search and Consulting network and Paul is the global head of the financial services practice. Paul specialises in senior executive and non-executive appointments has a wealth of experience advising organisations from start-ups through to FTSE 100 businesses on how to attract, retain and develop the best executive, non-executive and senior managers. Outside of Moorlands Human Capital Paul is a Non-Executive Director of Stalybridge Celtic Football Club and is currently studying for an MBA.

He will be acting as representative for local business leaders in the Manchester community, ensuring that the training, events and networking opportunities delivered by the North West IoD respond to their individual needs.”

Two further appointments were made to the North West IoD – Lee Petts who takes up the role as Chair of the Lancashire branch, and Chris Ward who is appointed as Chair in Cumbria.
