Enterprising Women Conference
Our Enterprising Women 2018, sponsored by Vodafone, took place on 11 October. What a conference, what a day! Hosted by IoD member Heather Wright, and kicked off in song by Sharon Amesu, other speakers included Warner Bros’ Jess Moore, shadow Business Secretary Rebecca Long-Bailey and Urban Splash’s founder Tom Bloxham. Over 200 attendees enjoyed the glorious Plaza 1930s super cinema; popcorn was served and the Wurlitzer was in fine tune. You can see all our pictures here.
Director of the Year Awards 2018 Final
Yet again, our North West leaders did us proud at the national Director of the Year Awards in London.
Against tough competition from across the UK, the North West scooped two awards. First up was Toby McCartney, Director at MacRebur - The Plastic Road Company, who won in the Start-Up category. Then Julian Skyrme, Director of Social Responsibility at The University of Manchester won ‘Director of the Year - Corporate Social Responsibility’.
Regional Director, Claire Ebrey said ‘I was so proud of all of our finalists, and delighted to take such great North West leaders to the national finals’.
The glitzy event was hosted by the wonderful Claudia Winkleman, from Strictly Come Dancing.
The North West Director of the Year Awards 2019 are open for applications now, with our ceremony taking place in April – all winners will represent the region in London later in the year.
