Charity Commission's David Holdsworth Becomes New IoD Liverpool Chair

The Charity Commission's Chief Operating Officer, David Holdsworth is to become the new Institute of Directors' Liverpool city region branch Chair. As a respected business leader with a regional and national profile, David has extensive experience in both the public and private sectors at an executive leadership level. Previous roles have included positions with two different FTSE 100 companies and also within the Home Office. David takes on the IoD role having been an active member of the organisation for a number of years.

Liverpool-based David joined the Charity Commission in 2015, having spent five years in the private sector and over a decade at the Home Office. As the Charity Commission's Chief Operating Officer, his experience in promoting good governance and regulation transcends effectively to the commercial arena.

David said: "Despite my career having taken me across the UK and internationally, I have always maintained Liverpool as my home. The city and its wider region has a history of being innovative and entrepreneurial with lots to offer business and organisations.

"There has never been a greater opportunity for our city region to develop thanks to the ever increasing devolution we have seen in recent years. As the new Chairman of the IoD's Liverpool city region branch, I am passionate about being at the forefront of change and making the most of these opportunities by supporting the city region and its business leaders in a socially responsible and sustainable way."

Speaking about the exciting appointment, IoD North West Regional Director, Claire Ebrey added: "We are delighted to welcome David to this role - he brings unrivalled experience, passion for the Liverpool city region, and great commitment to supporting IoD members.

"With Devolution, Brexit and the Northern Powerhouse bringing both opportunity and uncertainty, there has never been a better time for Liverpool's business leaders to join the IoD and make sure they capitalise on all of the opportunities out there."
