IoD launches search for North East chairman

08 Nov 2016

The Institute of Directors (IoD) is seeking a new chairman to become the voice of business for the North East.

Regional chairman Graham Robb is standing down from the role following the completion of his three-year term.

The successful candidate will take on a challenging and rewarding role as the North East builds closer ties across the North of England and with the IoD’s famous headquarters in Pall Mall, London.

The new chairman will drive membership growth whilst supporting and engaging with IoD members across the region, implementing and supporting IoD policies, standards and initiatives.

They will play a key role in the rollout of the IoD Advance membership platform, a new, dynamic and technology-driven approach to bringing members together to learn and share ideas.

IoD regional director Natalie Sykes said: “This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of a transformational journey with the IoD, the champions of business.

“We are looking for someone to inspire and lead our North East regional committee while engaging with our Young Director’s Forum and North East Women on Board Group.

“Acting as the voice of the IoD in the region is an important part of the role as we engage with local businesses and other stakeholders, such as the LEPs, public sector bodies and universities.”

The ideal candidate will live in the North East and have experience of working at board-level in an established wealth-creating company.
