The ambassador network consists of high-profile business leaders who represent and promote the IoD in their area and grow the region’s voice on national policy matters.Hugh has a wealth of experience from senior public and private sector roles in the UK and overseas. He led and set-up a £9m turnover, public-private partnership between The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and a German private sector partner. In addition to his knowledge of the health sector, Hugh was previously operations director for life sciences business LGC Group in Cologne, Germany, and chief operating officer for the Rural Payments Agency.Hugh also has experience in food production, construction and logistics - key industries in the Wakefield district.He is currently a director of Ben Place Consulting, Cherry Bank Cottages and Didsbury Lodge Management and a non-executive director of The Groundwork Trust.Hugh said: “Business leaders have many things in common, such as the need for skilled people and reliable communication.
