What a great start to our 2020 events, with a fantastic evening seminar on 21st January on Director & Officer Liability Insurance. Thanks to Aon (Isle of Man) Limited and Zurich Insurance Company for their valuable contribution. Thanks also to our sponsor for the evening HSBC.
The IoD Isle of Man Committee has been actively looking ahead and planning an array of networking, educational and dining events, with details coming online soon, including our flagship Spring Prestige Lunch!
We continue to take steps towards being part of IoD International, and as you may have seen have our own social media pages – please do give us a follow to keep up to date with our news!
We have also welcomed a new committee member, Steve Heeney (Cyberscience)
Steve joined the IoD Isle of Man Committee as he felt he could introduce
‘new thoughts and ideas, give the organisation new impetus and try and boost membership’.
Steve most recently won at the 2019 Isle of Man Newspapers Awards for Excellence, in the Innovation in Technology Category, and has a wealth of experience from his business background, including being head of offshore business delivering Business Intelligence, reporting, and analytics solutions to a broad range of businesses, running his own consulting business helping business build and deliver cloud services across UK and Europe, and a period of 12 years working at IBM where Steve, became head of its cloud channels business across EMEA. Steve also has a degree in Theoretical Physics, writes crime fiction and is a MAMIL.
We look forward to working with Steve!
On a sad note, we were informed of the passing of Harold Pease on Friday 17th January. Harold was the first Secretary of the IoD Isle of Man branch and along with Shelia Bailey laid the foundations for the strong professional business network we continue to offer on-island today. The IoD Isle of Man Committee would like to pass our condolences to Harry’s family.
