Being part of the stakeholder partnership group offers opportunities for balanced and considered decision making, opening the conversation to all with a collective aim of benefiting the island’s economy, environment and community.

IoD Isle of Man

IoD Isle of Man has an active engagement with the UNESCO Biosphere and its partners.

Recently two members from the Committee joined the technical sub-group. This group will assist with preparation for the periodic review which verifies the UNESCO Biosphere status.

As part of our ESG targets we host CPD opportunities for members to increase their learning and understanding about sustainability and what businesses could implement or aspire to achieve.

Meet the IoD Isle of Man ESG Chair – Ieda Gomes Yell

Ieda has a passion for increasing our understanding and promoting ESG best practice with our members.

“ESG – Environmental, Social and Governance – is one of top levers of business strategy; therefore company directors have a greater responsibility to ensure that ESG strategy aligns with business strategy and focus on material risks and business drivers. Furthermore, on a local level the Isle of Man Climate Change Bill will transform our way of doing business and company directors should be aware of future obligations and opportunities.”

Plastic Busters

In December 2020 IoD Isle of Man took the Plastic Busters Pledge.
