Interview with Barry Chevallier Guild, owner of Aspall, a family cyder-making business established in 1728.
Expert Connections, a knowledge transfer program, developed by IoD Suffolk and Menta (Mid-Anglian Enterprise Agency), has been creating relationships within the Suffolk area for almost two years.
The program facilitates introductions between ambitious, growing Suffolk small businesses and highly skilled and experienced business executives who are members of the Institute of Directors who provide their time and expertise free of charge.
Expert Connections is a program encouraging the sharing of ideas and business acumen. Relationships are built on the basis of rapport and no liability is offered or implied. Each relationship is offered at the convenience of each party and will remain with them to identify what is required and when.
IoD Suffolk and Menta, for this Expert Connections program act purely as facilitators and accept no responsibility for the relationships that are developed.
Expert Connections is aimed at growing companies that have been in business for three years or more. It is for business owners who find themselves in uncharted waters regarding strategic or management issues and would welcome the opportunity to speak with a ‘critical friend’ who can draw on personal experience or provide a different perspective. For example, business owners may have decisions to make regarding expansion, further investment, employment, marketing or diversification. The support is offered on a purely informal basis, free of charge and MENTA acts as the gateway for interested parties.
