IoD Essex were joined by fellow members and guests from branches across the East of England and beyond with members joining us from Hertfordshire, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Sussex and the Devon/Cornwall branches.
With the highest attendance for several years, the sun was shining as after enjoying tea/coffee and bacon rolls in the Fennes Shooting School Clubhouse members and guests tested their aim in our social and fun competition. With an equal mix of novices and experienced shooters joining us, guests were assisted by Fenne's highly experienced instructors as they made their way around the series of traps in the evening sun.
After returning to the clubhouse the winners were announced and we are delighted to congratulate and award bragging rights to Lance Flower from E.G. & L.E. Hubbard Ltd with a very impressive score of 49 out of 50 and also congratulate Leon Pascal from Fisher Jones Greenwood, who despite having never held a gun before scored 37 out of 50 in his first attempt at clay pigeon shooting.
This was a thoroughly enjoyable evening with some great networking and so our thanks goes to Fisher Jones Greenwood for supporting the event and to Fennes Shooting School for their kind hospitality.
The next event in the IoD Essex calendar is on the 19th September when we are delighted and privileged to be able to present Professor Peter Cochrane OBE, who as the UK’s first Professor for the Public Understanding of Science & Technology is uniquely placed to offer his advice on how we and our companies should embrace the AI and robotic revolution and what we need to be aware of.
