The Essex branch of the Institute of Directors (IoD) hosted our annual Chairman’s Christmas Breakfast at Braxted Park on 14 December kindly sponsored by Wortley Byers LLP and supporting Essex & Herts. Air Ambulance.
Guests were provided with expert economic forecasts for 2019 followed by a presentation from Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards, telling us the parts of the story missing from his movie and giving us lessons in motivation and resilience.
The 2018 IoD Christmas breakfast yet again evidenced the best of Essex business and the guests were treated to superb discussion and analysis from leading experts Allie Renison from the IoD and Phil Eckersley from the Bank of England.
Hearing Eddie's story including the sacrifices he made and adversity he overcame was highly entertaining but also proved that resilience does overcome adversity.
“It was a great opportunity to hear Allie Renison's incredible inside knowledge on how Brexit will potentially affect UK policy and what that will mean for businesses. But on a lighter note it was also great to hear Eddie The Eagle’s story of tenacity and passion – the very skills shared with ambitious directors and entrepreneurs. Alison Shadrack, Founder & CEO, Adia PR and IoD Essex Ambassador.
Over £740 was raised for local charity Essex and Herts. Air Ambulance Trust.
