IoD Members Are Invited to Join the ICAEW Economic Summit - 8 December
On 30 November 2020, ICAEW will release its hotly awaited Business Confidence Monitor™, one of the largest and most comprehensive quarterly reviews of UK business confidence providing a regular snapshot of the economy informed by senior business professionals running all types of businesses across the UK. This, in conjunction with a summary from the Bank of England and your opportunity to input into local discussions makes this event one not to be missed as we consider the question 'how can the local professional community help SMEs during a challenging H1 of 2021?'
Your attendance at the East of England Economic Summit on Tuesday 8th December, bringing together ICAEW’s nationwide research with expert views from local panellists and speakers is more important than ever before. As we draw towards the end of a year heavily impacted by the COVID pandemic and with less than 30 days until the end of the transition period, business insight has never been so crucial for policy makers, regulators and indeed businesses themselves.
Your input will be sought through participation in the breakout group that you chose when booking. Here panellists will examine either a specific topic or the economic landscape of the locality and the key challenges/opportunities unique to the county utilising key themes including the impact of COVID-19 on the local economy of the county, access to skills and workers, the role of towns and cities, Brexit, local business support and capital investment.
There will be representatives from IoD East of England in the breakout sessions. IoD East of England Chair, Biplab Rakshi will be joining the brexit panel. John Cockburn-Evans, Interim IoD Suffolk Chair will be joining the Suffolk panel debate and Alison Shadrack, IoD Essex Interim Chair will join the Essex debate.
