IoD Essex Branch Ambassador Introduction

IoD Essex Ambassador Adanna

Your name: Adanna Alaoma

Your IoD branch: Essex

Your IoD Branch Ambassador role: Student Ambassador

Q: How long have you been involved with the IoD?

I have been involved with IoD for about 2/3 years.

Q: Can you tell us a little about your career to date?

I am a student and have studied various subjects such as Business, Law, Advocacy and much more. Whilst studying I have been able to build a career in the Health Sector from a Care Assistant to the role of Support Worker for the NHS.

Q: What do you hope to achieve as an IoD Branch Ambassador?

I hope to build a strong connection with members as well as learn more about the commercial world.

Q: If you could give your 21 year old self some advice what would it be?

I would advise my 21 year old self to do the same things but be more focused in relation to certain aspects.

Q: What keeps you busy outside of work?

I volunteer for a few different organisations to build my experience and knowledge.

Q: Are there any business related or policy issues that keep you awake at night?

No, not at this point in time but the one thing that does worry me in general is that of Brexit.

Q: Why do you think business leaders should join the IoD?

Business leaders should join because it gives them a support system and much more.
