Q: How long have you been involved with the IoD?
I was a member for c 8 years I think, I didn’t renew 2 or so years ago as I was less in London, but have joined again, recently. I sat on Policy Voice round table events at Pall Mall.
Q: Can you tell us a little about your career to date?
Banker, Entrepreneur of fast growth business, portfolio director representing a Private Equity fund, Fund Manager investing in early stage firms, Business Angel network manager, Managing Partner of Numitas boutique finance consulting firm.
Q: What do you hope to achieve as an IoD Branch Ambassador?
Raise awareness business issues that will help inform members and enable them to make better business decisions
Q: If you could give your 21 year old self some advice what would it be?
Seek advice from experienced people you know have expertise and take their advice.
Q: What keeps you busy outside of work?
First and foremost I am family man and father so taking my boys to their various sports (cricket, tennis, football etc.) I play tennis and cricket, go to the gym, snowboarding, mountaineering and mountain trekking.
Q: Are there any business related or policy issues that keep you awake at night?
The uncertainty around ‘Brexit’ and the time business will have to adapt to the new arrangements.
Q: Why do you think business leaders should join the IoD?
Business is generally a force for good in the economy which enhances national and personal prosperity. The IoD is the voice of business, in order for business to be understood it needs a strong, consistent and well supported voice to represent our needs and concerns with Government. The IoD is also the champion of the company director and aids development and therefore better decisions and better businesses.
