Growth and learning the mission for new IoD Norfolk team

The Norfolk Branch of the Institute of Directors Sets Out Innovative Plans to Support Local Business Leaders and Grow Membership.

A rejuvenated programme to deliver the IoD’s vision kicked off on Monday 13th May 2019. Over 50 Directors, Founders and Senior Leaders gathered at the King’s Head Public House in Bawburgh to meet the IoD Norfolk Ambassadors and their newly appointed branch Chair, Michael Harrowven.

The IoD Norfolk team gave insight into how the IoD supports local business leaders to reach their full potential.

“What makes the IoD different is our focus on personal development. We provide members with the tools to succeed in their roles and build better businesses in Norfolk. We do this collaboratively through promoting high quality learning opportunities, peer-to-peer networking, mentoring and support”, IoD Norfolk Chair, Michael Harrowven, reported.

The event was kindly sponsored by CJC Procurement Ltd. Chris Cliffe, Director of CJC Procurement Ltd commented:

“It was a pleasure to have my brand associated with an event intended to mark the rejuvenation of the Norfolk branch. As such it was fantastic to see such a great turnout and to feel the buzz in the venue. I know how much effort went in behind the scenes to bring the event about, so sponsoring was an easy decision. I hope that this type of event is regularly repeated across the county and its success will encourage other directors to agree to sponsor IoD Norfolk events in future.”

Complementing regular fixtures in the calendar, such as the prestigious IoD Norfolk Annual dinner held in May each year, further events are planned over the coming months to build a stronger community of local leaders.

Other benefits of being an IoD member include access to meeting spaces and lounges in cities around the UK, as well as an Information and Advice service including a Legal and Tax Helpline.

For entrepreneurs, founders of start-ups and CEOs of mid-sized companies through to board members of large organisations across both private and public sectors, the IoD is the independent, trusted voice of strong business governance at a national level, with an active and passionate local presence on the ground in Norfolk.
