Q: How long have you been involved with the IoD?

3 years

Q: Can you tell us a little about your career to date?

32 years with Lloyds Bank in retail banking group audit, Private Banking and latterly in Commercial Banking.

Q: What do you hope to achieve as an IoD Branch Ambassador?

Continue to add value to the Leadership Team and share views on Suffolk’s tourism sector and 3rd sector.

Q: If you could give your 21 year old self some advice what would it be?

Everyday be the best you can be, be true to yourself, we can’t always control what happens to us but we can control how we react.

Q: What keeps you busy outside of work?

My family, travelling, Golf and Ipswich Town! Not necessarily in that order!

Q: Are there any business related or policy issues that keep you awake at night?

What is going to happen to the 3rd sector as central funding reduces, what will happen to all the great things they do without the funding to carry on, and what can I do to improve this?

Why isn’t the A14 3 lanes each way and why are agricultural vehicles allowed on it at all times of the day?

Q: Why do you think business leaders should join the IoD?

Mutual support network - it can be tough being on your own and leading a business. Connections - to help your own business and for you to help others personal development and enrichment.
