Q: How long have you been involved with the IoD?
Q: Can you tell us a little about your career to date?
My career has spanned sales, marketing, PR, branding, start-up, manufacturing and now education.
Q: What do you hope to achieve as an IoD Branch Ambassador?
To be recognised as an expert in my field and support Suffolk and our IoD Members.
Q: If you could give your 21 year old self some advice what would it be?
I am 21. However, if I was to give a much younger me advice it would be to focus on what makes you happy and pursue that, don’t waste your time impressing people with materialistic opinions and possessions. To focus on work that moves society forwards, that supports the economy and empowers you and those around you to do great things. Further to that, it would be to ensure that you take risks and do the crazy things as life really is all too short; create magnificent memories. I thought to be successful and happy you needed to earn bucket loads of cash, have a huge house and drive an expensive car. No, in actual fact a clear horizon, with nothing to worry about on your plate and caring about things that are only creative, and not destructive - that’s as happy as I’d ever want to be.
Q: What keeps you busy outside of work?
My girlfriend, friends, family, wine, amazing food, travelling and spending time with excellent people.
Q: Are there any business related or policy issues that keep you awake at night?
Careers Guidance is not a formal part of an Ofsted Inspection.
Q: Why do you think business leaders should join the IoD?
To gain confidence and build their community.
