IoD Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire. Covid-19 Recovery series – Lets Get Engaged
Post-pandemic (whenever that is), the world will be a different place in many respects and that certainly applies to the world of business.
Just 8 months ago, less than 5% of the population regularly worked from home. That figure is now 64%.
Remote working, virtual meetings, no commuting time, no face-to-face meetings and a huge drop in social contact has all become the norm in an astonishingly small period of time as the model for how we used to do things has been thrown out of the window.
One fact that will not change is that a highly engaged workforce will deliver better results than a disengaged one (and UK PLC is near the relegation zone of the global productivity league - and that was before Covid-19). Businesses need to move quickly to ensure their people are fully supported and engaged. On a national level, after an initial lift in engagement levels, we are seeing significant declines in employee engagement across all indicators and this is bad news for productivity.
So, if you want to know what you personally can do to help your business gain competitive advantage and positively impact the bottom line through getting engaged - tune into the second series of three free webinars starting on 18th November 2020 led by our IoD East Midlands Engagement Ambassador, John Jennings FIoD.
